For our Special Moments Event Planning team, we have only H.O.P.E. for 2021 weddings. That means we Have Only Positive Expectations!

Looking Back at 2020

Needless to say, 2020 was not the year we anticipated.

We worked with countless couples to reinvision the wedding they originally had planned. From creating seating charts for wedding ceremonies, and new floorplans with tables six-feet apart to much smaller guest counts than initially planned.

 

 

We also worked with lots of couples to postpone their weddings – some were rescheduled more than once. With so many couples moving into 2021, we’re keeping quite busy.

But, we are thankful that we kept our Special Moments Event Planning team safe and healthy, given the challenging times we had. And, we worked with a good number of couples to create safe, beautiful, and personal weddings within all local mandates.

 

We Have HOPE For 2021

As we said, 2021 is looking especially busy for our couples planning Tampa Bay weddings. In addition to couples who moved their weddings to 2021, we’re booking lots of new couples, especially for later in the year.

For next year we still see lots of Micro-Weddings. We also know that 2021’s Pantone Colors of the Year work incredibly well with our Florida beach weddings!

 

Micro Weddings

Micro Weddings are technically defined as weddings with under 50 guests. While Micro Weddings are smaller in size, nationally, we’re seeing they are keeping the same budgets.

Couples are really focusing on the details of the wedding day. They are adding in special touches for the family and close friends that gather for their big day.

We’ve seen lots of upgrades to cocktail hour foods, reception menus, and late-night snacks. Things like specialty Craft Beers, liquor tastings, and wine service focus on some of the couple’s interests. From additional personal flowers for immediate family members to centerpieces that guests can take home, couples focus on the guest experience.

 

2021 Pantone Color of the Year

Wedding pros hoped that given last year’s ‘Classic Blue’ and everything going on in the world during 2020, that the 2021 Pantone Color of the Year would bring us AMAZING colors.

The 2021 choices of ‘Ultimate Grey’ and ‘Illuminating,’ a sunny yellow, left some people cold. Pantone called them –

“A marriage of color conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting.”

 

 

Our Special Moments Event Planning team actually loves this sunny yellow and the combination with grey. In combination with other yellow tones, this bright yellow is spectacular for Tampa Bay area beach weddings.

The grey color works perfectly as a base or grounding color. The yellow tones with white flowers pop against grey linens and the matte finish of silver chargers and floral containers.

 

 

Looking Ahead To 2022

In years past, and we’ve been planning Tampa Bay Area weddings for nearly 17 years, everyone would only focus on the upcoming year.

However, we have to talk about 2022! We’re seeing people who postponed until the beginning of 2022 – and we’re getting crazy amounts of full-service wedding inquiries.

Couples who watched friends try to navigate wedding planning during COVID-19 now see the value in hiring a professional wedding planner. Couples are also moving forward to lock in 2022 days before corporate events coming back gobble up all of the prime wedding dates.

If you are a recently engaged couple, this is not the time to drag your feet. Venues are seeing dates getting swept up. So, booking planning packages and starting a venue search first thing in the new year is a must for 2022!

For our incredible team at Special Moments Events Planning, 2020 has taught us a lot. We’ve made lifelong friends of couples and their families who got married this year. But none the less, we Have Only Positive Expectations for 2021!
