Sunshine and Starfish: Sandpearl Resort Wedding

Our Special Moments Event Planning team adored working with Amanda, David and their families to plan this incredible destination wedding at the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach.

From the time they flew in for their tasting and initial vendor meetings to the last song of their wedding reception, we had an incredible time working together.

As the wedding day drew closer we worried there might be a few rainclouds as their wedding rehearsal and dinner had a slight change of plans because of the weather.

However, their wedding day was nothing but Sunshine and Starfish!

Sand and seashells filled their day from the silver Tiffany starfish bracelet Amanda wore to her wedding sandals, David’s boutonniere, and even the escort cards and tablescapes.

Amanda and the bridesmaids spent the morning relaxing, having their hair and makeup done, and enjoying lunch together in her suite overlooking Clearwater Beach. They took a little time for some photos together before Amanda and David’s first look.

David and the guys ventured off for some lunch before meeting up to get ready for their photos.

After a few photos, David headed outside of the resort to wait for his bride-to-be. We cannot get enough of this first look; they are too cute together.

On the other side of the resort, the beach was set of Amanda and David’s wedding ceremony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

The sand was lined with white chairs, and the aisle was marked with clusters of lanterns and white floral arrangements.  A custom-designed sign welcomed the wedding guests as they arrived — a beautiful wooden ceremony structure decorated with white florals and starfish framed Clearwater Beach.

Soft tropical steel drums played as David waited patiently for Amanda and her father to make their way across the sand. The couple exchanged wedding rings and vows they had written for each other. They also sealed a wooden box containing a unique selection of wine, and notes they had written to each other, to be opened on their first wedding anniversary.

Following the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom took some family photos and spent time alone on the beach while wedding guests enjoyed a cocktail reception that included an abundance of fresh seafood.

Inside the Sandpearl’s ballroom, escort cards and tablescapes continued the beach wedding feel.

The escort cards each contained a different seashell type to indicate the entrée selection that guests had made – what a great way to let the venue know entrée selections.

Tables were set with driftwood, shells, and clusters of white flowers, accented by gold charger plates and gold mercury glass votive candles.

After the guests made their way to the ballroom, Amanda and David made a grand entrance followed by their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” by Kina Grannis.

The newlyweds welcomed and thanked their family and friends for their love and support. Several heartfelt toasts by the couple’s honor attendants and Amanda’s father brought them both to tears.

A night filled with delicious food, a fun photo booth, and a jammed packed dancefloor concluded in a unique way.

Rather than a traditional wedding cake, the couple chose a gelato cart with six incredible flavors. A personalized scoop with their names and wedding date is something they are sure to use for years to come.

Congratulations, Amanda and David! We wish you a lifetime filled with as much sunshine as your wedding day!
