Sonya and Tyler’s Clearwater Beach Wedding

Our Special Moments Event Planning team loved working with Sonya and Tyler on their intimate destination wedding at Clearwater Beach.

With the hotel’s pink facade as the background, they added lush tropical greenery and flowers, along with dark green accents, gold tones representing the warm golden sand, and blue to depict the deep blue ocean.

This travel-loving couple picked the Gulf beaches after Tyler proposed on a rainy day at Madeira Beach.

However, not everything was sunshine and smiles. Their original wedding date fell right between two approaching hurricanes. Tammy worked her magic and pulled everything together in record time.

Getting Ready

When the day finally arrived, Sonya and her wedding party enjoyed breakfast in the bridal suite, had hair and makeup done on-site, and popped a little bubbly while wedding details were being captured.

At the other end of the resort, Tyler and the guys had a bite to eat, got dressed, and prepared for his first look with his bride-to-be.

Private Time with Dad

As you’ll see, private time is a common theme for this couple, and we love it!

Dressed and ready, Sonya headed off for a First Look and a little private time with her father.

It’s Tyler’s Turn!

Next up was Tyler’s turn for a First Look session with Sonya. And you know we LOVE a good First Look!

Enjoying their private time, they each took a few moments to share vows they wrote for each other.

Heading to the Beach

After a few more photos, they headed down toward Clearwater Beach for some additional portraits and some fun with their wedding party.

We can’t remember when a couple laughed so hard.

Up On The Roof

Up on the hotel’s rooftop terrace, everything was in place for their wedding ceremony. White garden chairs were decorated with clusters of greenery and white flowers. The end of the aisle was marked with white columns and beautiful floral arrangements.

They also chose to include a custom wine box as a focal point of their wedding ceremony.

“Best Day of My Life”

With everyone in place, Sonya, escorted by her father, made her entrance to the “Bridal Chorus.” Tyler looked on as his bride approached and barely held back tears.

The couple exchanged vows and rings as close family and friends looked on. Sealing their vows with a kiss, they made their exit to “Best Day of My Life,” by American Authors.

A Sneak Peek and Another Private Moment

The newlyweds joined family and friends on the 8th floor Caladesi Terrace for cocktails and light bites.

But then it was time to sneak off for a quick peek at the reception decor. We’re over the moon that they were so happy with everything.

It was also time for some private moments as the newlyweds shared a private first dance to “I Get To Love You” by Ruelle.

Personalized Decor

Just outside the ballroom, there was a table filled with luggage tags. A wonderful favor that also serves as an escort card with guests’ table assignments. The perfect tribute to the couple’s love of travel.

Inside the ballroom, tables covered in crisp white linens were surrounded by clear acrylic ballroom chairs. The tables form a circle around a custom white dancefloor with the couple’s sweetheart table and wedding cake at one end. And how adorable is the neon sign on the hedge wall? Yes, they are The Simpsons – but more on that in a minute!

The tables were elegantly set with gold charger plates topped with emerald green napkins. An eclectic assortment of floral arrangements and candles decorated the tables, with table numbers highlighting the newlyweds’ travels.

Another great personal touch was their “guest book,” a beautiful wooden platter with their names and wedding date for guests to sign.

The Simpsons!

Yes, we know you sang the theme song, too!

With everyone seated, the bride and groom made their grand entrance to the theme song of The Simpsons!

They stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance, surrounded by cold sparks, fountains, and clouds.

The bride’s father kicked off the evening with a toast to the newlyweds before everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner with entree options of beef, fish, or chicken.

After finishing their dinner, Sonya and Tyler stepped outside to enjoy a few more moments in that beautiful light just before sunset.

They returned to the ballroom and cut their three-tiered white wedding cake, decorated with gold accents, edible tropical flowers, greenery, and a custom gold cake topper. After the cake cutting, a dessert and coffee station was set up with pieces of the delicious cake.

The dance floor opened with parents dancing, and we had to share this photo of Sonya watching Tyler dance with his mother!

Taking to the dance floor, the newlyweds and their guests filled it for most of the evening. It included several fun games. They played Game of Thunder to ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC and Game of Roxanne to ‘Roxanne’, of course – and there may have been some drinking involved.

With everyone dancing, the bride and groom slipped away to the balcony to watch some local fireworks.

Returning, they held a unique T-shirt toss instead of the traditional bouquet toss. The custom Simpsons’ Beach Club T-shirts were a HUGE hit!

Dancing and some late-night snack filled the rest of the evening. Needless to say, all had a fantastic time!

Congratulations, Sonya and Tyler! Wishing you a lifetime full of special moments!
