Love And Laughter In Saint Petersburg
Lyndsey and Nick’s Saint Petersburg wedding just makes our Special Moments Event Planning team grin ear to ear. They are just the happiest couple, and we can’t get over how many of their fantastic wedding photos capture Lyndsey laughing!
“We’re over-the-moon happy,” she said in a New York Times feature. “I don’t think we’ve stopped smiling.”
Ever Changing Wedding Dates
Like a number of our 2020 couples, Lyndsey and Nick had to postpone their original March wedding date. They looked at moving the wedding to 2021. ut after the Chicago Marathon, they were both supposed to run in was canceled – they moved to an intimate wedding at her parent’s home in Seminole.
The wedding just under forty guests, including family and wedding party, quarantined, tested, and took precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Getting Ready
Lyndsey and her wedding party had their hair and makeup done at her mother’s salon. The Cottage was the perfect location offering them plenty of space and complete privacy.
After hair and makeup, they headed over to her parent’s home to get dressed and for Lyndsey to have her first look with Nick.
Lyndsey chose a beautiful wedding gown with an open back, plunging V neckline, and a long sweeping train with lace detailing. She carried a loose hand-tied bouquet in white and light blue. The bouquet included white roses, ranunculus, anemone, and light blue delphinium.
Home Sweet Home
The couple had their first look at her parents’ home, where the reception would be later in the day. We LOVE the huge floral arch above the entrance with swags in the front door.
After their first look and some time together, the couple headed to downtown Saint Pete for some portraits and didn’t let a little shower dampen their spirits. Bonus points for Nick, protecting Lyndsey’s hair!
I Do, I Do Too
After some portraits in downtown Saint Pete, the couple and their family headed to Saint Mary, Our Lady of Grace, to freshen up before heading down the aisle.
Nick could not have been more excited as Lyndsey made her way down the aisle with her parents.
The church was the perfect setting for this intimate wedding. In true Lyndsey and Nick fashion, they smiled ear to ear and giggled a bit as they exchanged wedding vows. At the end of the ceremony, they took some time in the church for some family photos and this beautiful portrait.
Make an Entrance in Style
The newlyweds departed for a local dock. The bride’s brother captained a boat through the local canals for the newlyweds to make a grand entrance.
Guests had gathered in the back lawn, enjoying some champagne and individually plated charcuterie boards as the couple arrived and had their first dance on the dock. The couple had their first dance to ‘8 (circle)’ by Bon Iver.
Dinner and Dancing
The back yard was strung with overhead market lights and dotted with cocktail-style reception tables. Blue and white floral arrangements filled the backyard. They lined the dock, floated on the pool, and decorated a huge boxwood wall- a fantastic photo opportunity!
Throughout the evening, the family enjoyed toasts, delicious food stations. The couple took a few minutes to cut their intimate wedding cake before heading to the dance floor.
The night ended with the song ‘Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show and a surprise streamer shower of streamers.
Congratulations, Lyndsey and Nick! We wish you a life together filled with love and laughter.
