Kathy and Nabil’s Tampa Garden Club Wedding

This amazing Tampa Garden Club wedding was a lot of fun! Our Special Moments Event Planning team loved collaborating with Kathy and Nabil.

It was a truly multicultural wedding. The couple met in graduate school after Kathy returned from India and Nabil from Thailand. Their circle of family and friends, along with the wedding day, reflected that global community. 

From the tropical-themed decor in salmon pink and shades of green to the food, entertainment, and personal touches, the day was fantastic.

 

 

Details and Getting Ready

Kathy spent the morning preparing, having personal items photographed, dressing, and getting some portraits taken.

 

 

Across the hotel, Nabil gathered with the guys, hung out, and got dressed to see his bride-to-be for the first time.

 

 

First Look and Portrait Session

Outside the hotel, with Nabil in place, Kathy headed down the sidewalk to her anxiously waiting groom. As you know, we love a great first look, and this one was adorable.

 

 

After their first look, they had the first of two portrait sessions, then took some family photos.

 

 

A Tampa Garden Club Wedding

The outdoor ceremony space at Tampa Garden Club featured white garden chairs. Two columns with tropical floral arrangements marked one end of the aisle, while a beautiful arch draped with fabric and flowers decorated the other.

 

 

The wedding ceremony started with Nabil’s entrance, followed by the wedding party, and then it was time for Kathy’s entrance. The moment was truly special.

 

 

The couple exchanged wedding vows and rings, sealing their bond with a kiss before making their exit, stopping once for a sweet dip and a kiss.

 

 

Cocktail Hour and A Second Portrait Session

After the wedding ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with food stations and passed hors d’oeuvres. The newlyweds joined them for a while before Kathy changed her attire and headed off for a second portrait session.

 

 

The stunning sari was EVERYTHING. We love the color, the detailing, and Kathy’s accessories. (…and Nabil looks quite handsome too!)

 

 

 

A Night to Remember

Inside the ballroom, tables were covered with white linens and adorned with tropical floral arrangements—the eclectic decor combined gold-toned risers and urns, adding visual interest. The tablescape featured handwoven mats, wedding favors, and hand-tied napkins.

 

 

The newlyweds made their grand entrance, taking to the dance floor for their first dance to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.

 

 

As each group of wedding guests was invited to the delicious buffet dinner, they stopped at the couple’s sweetheart table for a photo. As a wedding planner who dislikes table photos with dirty plates, this was a fantastic idea.

 

 

After dinner, there were several well-timed speeches and fun dance performances, some of which also included the bride and groom.

 

 

Following the cake cutting, Kathy and Nabil took to the dancefloor, which stayed packed all night long!
