Gifty and Stephen’s Clearwater Beach Wedding Weekend!

Gifty and Stephen’s Clearwater Beach wedding weekend was nothing short of incredible. Our Special Moments Event Planning team loves seeing a plan come together, and we were there when Stephen proposed!

 

“Gifty and I had just got back from our trip to Africa visiting her family. I planned on proposing to her that next weekend before her birthday celebration. I originally tried to plan a beach proposal, but due to inclement weather, this was not working out.I wanted it to be a surprise and had to plan it in 5 days, so I did what any groom-to-be would do. I hired a wedding planner.Together, we planned the perfect proposal, and Gifty was so surprised. All the planning was worth it, and it was such a memorable day for the both of us.”

 

 

The Wedding Weekend

It was a long but incredible wedding weekend. Events began Friday evening with a traditional Ghanaian wedding. On Saturday, everything continued with a more American-style ceremony and reception.

Getting Saturday Started!

Saturday began with the couple each getting ready with their wedding party.

 

 

Dressed and ready, they headed off for their first look, followed by some portraits and photos with their wedding party.

 

 

Up On The Roof

Everything was in place for the couple’s intimate wedding ceremony on the resort’s rooftop deck, which overlooks Clearwater Beach. 

 

 

With everyone in place, Gifty, escorted by her mother, made her way down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Kina Grannies.

 

 

Surrounded by family and friends, the couple exchanged wedding rings and vows. The ceremony also included a unity Sand Ceremony, during which they invited Gifty’s son to join them.

Sealing their vows with a kiss, they headed off under a shower of bubbles to “Dandelions” by Ruth B.

 

 

Everybody!

Guests headed to the resort’s second-floor terrace enjoyed cocktails and light bites, and everyone took time for one large group photo with the newlyweds.

Shortly after, the newlyweds snuck off for some time alone. The bride quickly changed into her second wedding dress, and the couple took a sneak peek at the wedding reception decor.

 

 

Dance The Night Away

After cocktail hour, guests made their way to the ballroom for a night filled with food and great music.

One of our favorite details was this super cute guest book. Just lift the phone’s receiver and leave a message after the tone! 

 

 

Tables were draped with crisp white linens and decorated with candles and delicate white floral arrangements with a wedding favor at each place setting. Gold Chiavari chairs, gold flatware, and gold-edged charger plates add a shimmer to the white and sage color story.

Off to one side was the couple’s incredible sweetheart table. It sat in front of the enormous floral wall, which featured a custom neon sign. 

 

 

Following their grand entrance, the newlyweds made their way to the dance floor for their first dance to “Why I Love You” by Major.

 

 

The evening continues with beautiful family dances, touching toasts, dinner, the newlyweds cutting their wedding cake, and lots of dancing, ending with “I Was Made For Loving You.”
