Carly and Allen’s Sunken Gardens Wedding
Sunken Gardens in St. Pete created the perfect tropical backdrop for Carly and Allen’s wedding, which our Special Moments Event Planning team had the honor of coordinating.
It is so lush and green with beautiful pops of color, and we can’t wait for you to see some of their wedding portraits in the gardens.
Getting Ready
The afternoon at Sunken Gardens began with the bride and groom in separate locations. The photography team captured personal items, everyone getting dressed and ready, and some beautiful portraits.
I Can’t See You
Carly and Allen chose not to see each other before their wedding ceremony. But it didn’t keep them from sharing some touching handwritten notes.
We love these cards that read “To My Bride/Groom On Our Wedding Day.”
Taking Time With Dad
A little later, it was time for Carly’s dad to see her for the first time on her wedding day. We love their connection, and the gardens provided a beautiful backdrop.
With This Ring
Sunken Gardens has beautiful spaces for wedding ceremonies. The trees and tropical plants offer a picture-perfect setting for Carly and Allen to exchange wedding vows.
Soft guitar music played as everyone gathered for the wedding ceremony. With everyone seated, it was time for Allen, accompanied by his parents, to begin the procession.
Next up was the couple’s wedding party, which included the Ring Bearer, Goose.
Allen looked on as Carly, escorted by her parents, made her entrance to the classic Canon in D.
Exchanging rings and vows surrounded by family and friends, the newlyweds sealed their bond with a kiss and made their way up the aisle to “Island in the Sun.”
Cocktails and Wedding Portraits
The newlyweds joined their guests in the Oak Pavilion for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before heading off for some family and wedding party photos.
And then it was time for Carly and Allen to wander the Sunken Gardens’ incredible property, taking spectacular wedding portraits.
Eat, Drink, and Be Married!
Before heading to the reception tent, guests gathered their escort cards. They were attached to miniature, white lanterns. A cute wedding favor that added to the table decor.
They also had a chance to take some Polaroid photos, which were used to create a memorable and adorable guest book.
Inside the tent, under a canopy of twinkle lights, tables were draped with crisp white linens and napkins. Natural edge slices of wood held gold-toned table numbers, greenery, and miniature bottles with baby’s breath—perfect tablescapes that paired beautifully with the surrounding gardens.
Making their grand entrance, the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance.
This was followed by a series of dances with their parents, and a welcome and thank-you from the parents of the bride.
Several touching toasts followed a delicious multicourse dinner. But before it was time to open the dancefloor, Carly and Allen had their cake cutting. How adorable are these bride and groom ducks?
Carly, Allen, and their guests danced the night away surrounded by the natural beauty of the gardens.
Congratulations, Carly and Allen! Thank you for letting us be part of your special moments.
