In the past, our Special Moments Event Planning blog has talked about being OK with your plan B; and Melissa and Nelson are a wonderful example of that.

The evening before their wedding at the beautiful Opal Sands Resort on Clearwater Beach, it was fairly windy and pretty chilly. Melissa decided right there that the ceremony the next day would be inside; she did not want their wedding guests to by cold and miserable.

The next afternoon after Melissa and Nelson had their first look and some photographs together; Melissa began her walk to her anxious future husband.

Melissa carried a hand-tied bouquet of purple throated Picasso calla lilies, the perfect complement to her sweeping wedding gown and fingertip length veil.

The aisle was filled with chrome-colored lanterns surrounded by white petals, with two white risers holding white floral arrangements. The couple exchanged their wedding vows in front of floor to ceiling windows covered with a flowing white drape.

The ballroom for the wedding reception that followed the ceremony was washed in warm purple light which reflected off of the white linen, chrome lanterns, and mirrored table numbers. The lanterns were seated in a bed of purple and white flowers with silver mercury glass candles surrounding them.

Melissa and Nelson sat together at a half moon shaped sweetheart table decorated with a cascade of purple and white Picasso calla lilies, white calla lilies, blush tone orchids, Italian ruscus and silver votive candles. The white risers and asymmetric floral arrangements of Casablanca lilies, extra-long white calla lilies, and phalaenopsis orchids flanked the sweetheart table.

After a scrumptious multi-course dinner the couple and their wedding guests danced the night away with both a DJ and a band. An evening of Salsa dancing was intermixed with sweet treats and this beautiful wedding cake banded in purple ribbon and a really adorable personalized cake topper.
