An Intimate Wedding in Dunedin, Florida

Much like the rest of the world, last year was a bit challenging for Sarah and Russ. They are busy medical professionals planning their wedding for early Spring of 2020. When COVID hit, they opted to keep their original wedding date with a simple backyard ceremony – officiated by our own Bill Waterman.

During the planning of a celebration for May of 2021, when family and friends could safely attend their wedding, their guest list grew by a little bit. The couple made this intimate wedding with family and close friends truly a family affair.

 

The Historic Fenway Hotel

Their Dunedin wedding celebration was held at the beautiful Fenway hotel. The Fenway Hotel is a historic property build in 1924 and an icon of the jazz age. The property sits on St. Joseph Sound with beautiful views of Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands.

 

All About The Details

The couple and each of their wedding parties spent time getting ready. The photographer captured the beautiful personal details of the day and a few individual portraits.

We loved the detailing in Sarah’s lace embellished ballgown and the pops of color in her fabulous bridal bouquet. Russ looked sharp with his bright blue bowtie, pocket square, and boutonniere, picking up the colors from his bride’s bouquet.

 

Intimate Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

The outdoor wedding ceremony was hosted on a beautiful open lawn with waterfront views. The couple chose a magical driftwood wedding arch as the backdrop to their ceremony. Draped in soft white fabric and swags of colorful flowers, the arch framed them beautifully.

Waiting patiently to see his bride for the first time, everyone had a little surprise. In a moment taken from The Office, several wedding guests danced their way down the aisle.

Sarah looked stunning as she made her way down the aisle, bringing Rus to tears. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple publicly exchanged their wedding vows in a beautiful outdoor ceremony.

 

Cocktails and Creative Photos

The newlywed’s wedding guests enjoyed the cocktail hour on the hotel’s terrace. Meanwhile, the couple headed off for some beautiful wedding portraits. And, when your couple is wine lovers, you absolutely want some once-in-a-lifetime wedding photos in the hotel’s wine cellar.

 

Dinner and Dancing in Dunedin

The Fenway’s ballroom was set with beautiful textured cream-colored lines and simple, elegant wildflower centerpieces.

Following introductions, the couple enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.

The evening was filled with delicious food, dancing, and a few special toasts. The newlyweds snuck outside for some magical sunset photos before cutting their beach-inspired wedding cake and taking to the dance floor.
