The Sweetest Things – Clearwater Beach Destination Wedding

Kerry and Stanley could not be any sweeter. Our Special Moments Event Planning team adored working with them on their Clearwater Beach destination wedding.

Initially, our team was hired for Wedding Day Management, with Kerry doing most of the wedding planning herself. However, as we all know, COVID presented us all with many challenges and trying to plan a destination wedding became more complicated for her. Our Special Moments Event Planning team was able to step in and assist with more of the planning.

Throughout the planning process and the wedding day, she and Stanley were super sweet and committed to making sure their wedding guest – and the wedding pros – were safe and cared for.

Kerry and Her Bridal Party

With a destination wedding of only about fifty people, both wedding parties, mostly of extended family, made up a good portion of the wedding.

The ladies began their morning with a little bonding, and of course, some champagne and lunch in their suite while getting ready.

Kerry chose a beautiful lace wedding gown paired with a loose hand-tied bridal bouquet in beachy tones of coral and light blue. The texture and colors of the bouquet were carried through the wedding day.

Stanley and The Guys

The guys spent their morning in another suite – their honeymoon suite, to be exact. They guys enjoyed lunch and hanging out. Note to self – guys, and honeymoon suite might not be your best option—sorry, guys.

Stanley looked very handsome in a light sand-colored suit with an open collar. The same soft blue details of textures from Kerry’s bouquet were carried through in his boutonniere.

Split Formals

Split formals are an industry term that refers to doing photos of all the ladies and all the guys separately. It’s a great way to get some of the larger wedding group photos accomplished before the wedding ceremony. This allows for more time after the wedding ceremony for more family and couple’s photos.

We love how these photos came out, and with a huge wedding party, it was a great idea!

Here Comes The Sun

Kerry made her entrance to ‘Here Comes The Sun’ by The Beatles a nice touch for a beach wedding. The couple, surrounded by family and close friends, exchanged their wedding vows against the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Clearwater Beach backdrop.

A Little Change In Plans

The wedding reception initially planned for an indoor space was changed to an all-outdoor wedding about three weeks before the wedding.

The wedding had fewer wedding guests attending, and from a safety and comfort standpoint, it was just the best option.

It offered the opportunity to spread out across the Sand Pearl’s Gulf Lawn. Natural fruitwood chairs echoes of the sandy beaches with a few touches of gold and lots of soft, elegant floral centerpieces.

Beach Front Cocktail Reception

While the couple and family took some time for photos, the rest of the wedding guests enjoyed a beachfront cocktail reception.  This included a Raw Bar, Bakes Brie Station, and passed hors d ‘oeuvres.

Sunset Dances

As the sun began to set over the Gulf of Mexico, the newlyweds made their entrance and had their first dance to “Deeper Than The Holler” by Randy Travis. This was followed by their Father-Daughter Dance to “My Girl’ and a Mother-Son Dance to “Stand By Me.”

The opening dances were followed by a welcome and several touching toasts before guests made their way to several delicious dinner stations.

The evening included an incredible live event painter who did a fabulous job of capturing their special moments.

From the beautiful three-tiered wedding cake to the delicious dessert station and even late-night sliders, the wedding guests danced and ate well into the evening.

Congratulations, Kerry and Stanley! We wish you a lifetime as sweet as you both are!
