Our Special Moments Event Planning team is constantly getting asked one particular question, so we thought we’d tackle it head-on and share a bunch of tips and ideas for groomsmen gifts!

The truth is, you as the groom know your guys better than anyone else involved in your wedding. You know their personality, likes and dislikes, so look at things like hobbies, sports teams or what they drink.

 

WHO?

The biggest question that comes up is about who you need to get gifts for. Traditionally, the groom is responsible for getting a gift for all of the men in the wedding.

This usually includes the best man, groomsmen, ushers, ring bearer as well as the officiant and the fathers.

One thing to keep in mind is that they do not all have to be the same, the best man is the best man for a reason and something a little more special is a nice touch.

 

How Much?

Industry reports say that grooms seem to be spending between $50 and $150 for each groomsman, with somewhere around $35 for the others.

Only you know your budget and what your relationship is with the guys. The size and formality of your wedding is often a good indication of what price range might work best.

 

But, What Do I Get Them?

We have seen everything from beautifully handcrafted watches to throwing hatchets with their names engraved in them and monogrammed travel toiletry bags to personalized flasks and growlers.

We found a great website called Groovy Groomsmen Gifts that had some really interesting ideas in a wide range of price points.

One other thing to keep in mind is to stay away from doing anything with your name and wedding date – it’s not a wedding favor, it’s something to show him how much you appreciate him being part of your life and your wedding.

What Else?

Many times, gifts are shared with the guys at the bachelor party but we also see more and more shared at the rehearsal dinner.

You will also want to write them a note – keep it simple including heartfelt thanks, you don’t have to be a poet. Just thank them and tell them how important they are to you.
