Hit up any wedding pro’s social media page, and you’ll be swamped with flower photos.

Generally, you’ll see lots of fantastic ceremony structures, beautiful tablescapes, and, of course, some stunning bridal bouquets.

But, what NO ONE ever talks about are personal flowers. Personal flowers are all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages for your wedding party and family.

So, today, our Special Moments Event Planning team will break down many things you should know and consider when it comes to personal flowers for your wedding.

Beyond Your Wedding Party

When you think of personal flowers, everyone thinks of bouquets and boutonnieres for your wedding party, flower girls, and ring bearers.

But it’s important to remember other important people in your life.

You’ll also be ordering corsages and boutonnieres for your parents. If one or both of your parents are walking you down the aisle, you’ll want to ensure their flowers coordinate with yours.

Another important consideration is when the couple has step-parents or a parent with a significant other. Regardless of the situation, including them with a simple corsage or boutonniere can help keep them from having hurt feelings.

Grandparents are another major consideration. Sometimes mothers choose to carry a small nosegay or single flower. When it comes to grandmothers, it’s best to keep to a corsage, it’s easy to wear, and they don’t have to worry about having anything in their hands. We also find that grandmothers especially like something more traditional regardless of the flowers in other parts of the wedding.

Other Special People

Other personal flowers to consider might be for ushers who are not part of the wedding party. They will often be in some of the group photos, and it’s nice to have them coordinate.

Friends or family doing readings or a special musical performance are another consideration. They were selected for a reason and are important to the two of you, so it’s nice to include them with coordinating flowers.
