Our Special Moments Event Planning team loves our four legged kids! Cheech even has a bed in our studio and sometimes comes to visit us at work.
We’re seeing more and more couples who wouldn’t even consider not having their dog as part of the wedding; or at least in the wedding photos. Some of the most fun, amazing wedding photos we’ve seen have included a couple’s dog.
With that said there are a few things to remember.
While we’re seeing more and more pet friendly Tampa Bay wedding venues, not all venues are pet friendly and you’ll need to check with the venue if you are having a beach wedding.
Take a serious look at your pooch’s personality, a very nervous dog in a crowd, away from their pet parents might be tough on them, and you. Trying to control your baby in your wedding attire is something to keep in mind as well. If they are prone to jumping up on you it might create a wardrobe malfunction.
Tying your real wedding rings to their collar is not a good idea. At a minimum it’s difficult to get them to sit still while untying them in a relatively short amount of time. We’ve heard some horror stories where the dog gotloose in all the commotion and the rings went running off across the lawn with the dog.
Considering a pet care company for your wedding day is so smart, it takes pressure off you as the couple and also off your puppy as they can spend short amounts of time with you.
Recently, our couple Stefany and Erik engaged Fairy Tail Pet Care for their downtown Tampa wedding to take care of their little girl Tequila. Not only did they play fetch with Tequila in the park; but they brought her over to the Le Meridien Tampa Hotel where Erik and the groomsmen were doing wedding photos.
They helped them orchestrate a great surprise entrance at their reception at The Vault. We love seeing the fun video of the day from Tequila’s vantage point too.
Great planning allows you and your pet to enjoy your wedding day!
