I don’t know about you all, but this Holiday Season came out of no where. From moving my family to the Sunshine State and planning wedding after wedding these days just keep flying past me. But nonetheless I am going to enjoy every aspect of the Christmas Season.
Normally every year the day after Thanksgiving I drag the over sized Christmas tree boxes up from the basement and set up the tree. Its one of my favorite things to do and I am like a kid waiting to see Santa leading up to the week of Thanksgiving waiting to get the go ahead to set up the tree. Every year for Christmas Eve my family does the same thing. Christmas Eve Service at our family Church, Ham and cheese spread on croissants, homemade potato soup, and Hot Chocolate. This year is going to be a little different. We still are going to do Christmas Eve service and Hot Cocoa but we are unable to set up our tree and all our decorations, so instead I made one out of yard and wall hooks. How cool is that ?
Below is my go to recipe for Hot Cocoa :
Peppermint White Hot Chocolate
8 cups of milk (I use 2% or whole)
1 pound white chocolate
2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tsp Peppermint extract
Take white chocolate and chop it into small pieces. Place white chocolate and milk into sauce pot over medium low to medium heat. Stir occasionally until chocolate is completely melted. Mix in the Vanilla and Peppermint extracts. Serve warm in a festive mug with a Candy Cane and Whip Cream.
If you are serving an adult crowd and want to mix it up a little bit, before serving, mix in 1 cup (more or less if you desire) RumChata.
Put a little extra cheer to your tablescape. Take your silverware and place it diagonally on a red napkin. Add a sprig of pine and wrap it all with ribbon. Voila, something cheery and cute.
Would love to hear your favorite Holiday memories!
Until Next time,
